CHICAGO, IL., April 15, 2023.
After the bye week, los Reyes de Jalisco returned to the kingdom of victory. It was necessary for the Guadalajara team to vindicate itself after 2 atrocious losses in which Shelton Patrick was intercepted multiple times to reach 10 interceptions this 2023.

The challenge was to travel to the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, home of the Galgos, who debuted their mascot, the intimidating and at the same time friendly Galgo-Man, who wears #33 on his jersey. The expectation was great, the Galgos and their super QB, former player of the Seattle Seahawks and the TCU horned frogs, TREVONE BOYKIN arrived as the best QB in the LFA.
This time the story would be very different and difficult to swallow for the group of fans who usually burst with joy, enjoying the tailgate party, living with passion and feeling the Tijuanense identity with their team. The night was dropped as a premonition on the northern border that defenses would act hard with the intention of stopping RBs before crossing the line of scrimmage and making grass-eating sacks.

Los Galgos dropped onto the track as favorites to win the race but from the start they stumbled against a defense of Reyes led by the tremendous ANTHONY PATRICK. Uncertainty appeared in the Tijuana team and ANTONIO GUERRERO lost the ball, leaving an excellent opportunity for Jalisco. SHANNON PATRICK threw a 25-yard pinpoint pass to RODNELL CRUELL. The Reyes went up 7-0.
It was Boykin’s turn who was pressured from the beginning, threw a pass that was snatched by the Reyes DB, LUIS RIVERA. Jalisco opened the second quarter with a dominant drive finished off by the mighty JORDON SHIPPY in a 1-yard run. The Galgos returned to the race with Boykin, who broke away 1 yard to make it 14-6.

The Reyes’ net intimidation was clear throughout the game, the offensive and defensive lines dominating every play. In actions of the 3rd quarter, Boykin emerged from the locker room determined to flourish with his aerial circus, looking for his favorite targets like TERRENCE WILLIAMS, the former Cowboy who feels blessed to play in Mexico and ELDRIDGE MASSINGTON, former Pac 12 player, militating for the UCLA Bruins. However, the Reyes showed that in a week off they prepared the game in detail, each movement was anticipated and thus ALFONSO MENDOZA intercepted Boykin’s second pass.
The fever of the Jaliscienses to take the victory as a visitor did not stop, the defenses debated in a duel of tied offensives. In the fourth quarter Patrick continued to play smart, not risking the ball while Boykin was intercepted for the third time, now in the hands of ALFONSO MENDOZA.

It was a miserable night for Boykin. The next two interceptions were thrown by the charismatic Reyes safety SALVADOR CABRERA MINUTTI. At the end of the game, the Jalisco special teams softened and the Galgos made a safety. For week 7, the Reyes will return to the Blue Fortress to face the Ciudad Juárez Jefes. It is essential for the kingdom of Guadalajara to know how to finish strong.
